Getting A Photo Enlarged/Mounted At Kinkos?
i’m getting a photo blown up to about 5 feet by 3 feet, and mounted on foam board at kinkos (well, fed ex i think they are now).
the image is just a regular picture, not any high quality thing. when they blow it up, its not going to be all pixelated right? i mean i’m not expected pristine quality, but its of my brother (long story) and i want it to be recognizable.. and i’m spending a lot of money and don’t want it to be really crappy quality, you know?
so has anyone had this done? will it be fairly good quality? thanks!
i am getting the picture off facebook because my brother isn’t sending me the original. so it would be printed from my printer and brought to them. does that make a difference?
If it’s a digital photograph I’m afraid it will be extremely pixilated especialy as you say it’s not a very high quality one, the company may even refuse to do it for you.
Even if it’s on film, an enlargement that size would have had to be taken on a medium format on a good quality camera to be acceptable.
I would suggest before you spend your money on this enlargement that you have it enlarged first of all to at least A4 size or preferably 15″ x 12″ and then hold the photograph at the closest possible reading distance from your eyes, that will give you roughly an idea of what you 5′ x 3′ photograph will look like from about fifteen feet away.
