Actually, the color of his tie will not be the most important part of his outfit. He needs to ensure that he does not wear a white shirt – it would have the effect of making your dress look dirty instead of a lovely ivory. An ivory shirt will not be difficult to find and would work well. A dark color shirt that he looks good in (dark green, navy blue, even black) would be a very nice contrast. I would advise against brown, as it is difficult to keep the shading from clashing with your ivory. I would advise silver jewelry for him if he wears cuff-links, an earring, etc., in order not to clash with your outfit. Coordinating is the key to the look – matching will not look as attractive.
