It has been an interesting summer at anfield this year. It started by seeing the end of the Rafa Benetiz era and the start of a new one. One where for a few months alot of fans didn’t know which way it was going to turn out. Good or bad?
Then came the appointment of Roy Hodgson. One that was met with mixed reactions. Was he the one to steady the ship at liverpool or was he just the cheapest option for the currently disliked board.
And then…………… Roy Hodgson proved to all the football world he had the experience and the knowledge to help Liverpool football club to not only steady the ship but also put them back into contention for the top four and get a belief back into the fans. He managed to pull off a major free transfer. That of Joe Cole.
Joe Cole signed on a free transfer after being released by chelsea. He made it clear to all the fans that Liverpool Football Club had started a new era and that he was confident that it would be Roy Hodgson that would lead them to this.
The day after even more great news for Liverpool Fans. Steven Gerrard publicly after months of speculation about his future commits to Liverpool Football Club. Stating his love and desire to want to win titles at the club playing along side Joe Cole.
Finally the news may Liverpool fans had been waiting for. Serious take over news. A chinese businessman announces his interest in Liverpool Football Club and states he wants to buy the club within 6 weeks. Then 4 other interested groups confirm thier interest in Liverpool FC.
Whilst all this is going on there are still many fans worrying about Fernando Torres. Was he going to stay or go? Then he returned to Melwood for training and after speaking to Roy Hodgson and Christian Purslow he announced his desire to stay.
And now today on the 9th August it seems that Liverpool Football Club has been taken over by a candian based group with investors from the middle east. They have already started to clear the club debts and start work on the new stadium along with allowing the new liverpool manager to buy the remaining players on his wish list.
Overall what an exciting summer it has been for liverpool football club. They have had a new manager a new exciting signing in Joe Cole along with some excellent youth prospects breaking thru and with the support of Gerrard and Torres forming a mouth watering attack of Cole, Gerrard and Torres, Liverpool Football Club clear of debt and with a new stadium start a new era.
